CalAPA members receive discount on on-line asphalt training by partner Pavia Systems, Inc.

Mix design and mix properties are only part of a successful asphalt paving job. Skilled and knowledgeable paving crews are just as important for a successful outcome. For this reason, the National Asphalt Pavement Assocation (NAPA) has created the "Diamond Paving Certification," the only award geared to recognizing outstanding paving crews. Part of the award program includes training, and CalAPA partner Pavia Systems offers on-line training intended to meet the training requirements of the NAPA award at a discount to CalAPA members. PRAISE FOR THE CLASS

"I recently attended the CalAPA 'Critical Changes to Caltrans Section 39 Hot Mix Asphalt Specifications' half day training session. I appreciate the wealth of experience and knowledge the instructor (Paul Curren) brought to the training. I thought the presentation of the material, which is complex, was succinct and thorough. I am amending and strengthening my Agency's pavement specifications, based on some of the material provided by CalAPA. Overall, I would recommend this training for all pavement professionals -- engineers, consultants, estimators, contractors, inspectors, suppliers, etc."
-- Tawfic N. Halaby, P.E., Associate Civil Engineer,
City of Richmond
